(Bloomberg) The court’s wobbliness isn’t an accident. It’s a direct result of the lack of constitutional grounding for its decades of abortion decisions. The Constitution offers no guidance on whether or not a restriction on abortion is “undue.” That’s a subjective question, and the answer to it depends a great deal on how much value the life of a fetus has — which is to say, it’s inextricable from the question of the morality of abortion. The justices neither have nor claim any special knowledge about that underlying question. That’s why they ought to exit the field altogether, and leave abortion policy to legislators and voters.

In Massachusetts, Minors Need Permission For Abortion, But That Could Change ([link removed][UNIQID])
(Kaiser Health News) Removing parental consent is a key element in a bill called the “Roe Act” that’s pending in the Massachusetts Legislature. It would also allow abortions in the third trimester — if a doctor diagnoses a fatal fetal condition — and, in anticipation of a post-Roe world, would establish the right to an abortion in state law.

(The Columbus Dispatch) The last abortion clinic in Cincinnati could be shut down by state regulators. Ohio Health Director Amy Acton wants to revoke the Planned Parenthood of Southwest Ohio Region’s license for failing to have a written agreement with a local hospital to transfer patients in case of emergency.
