Dear Reader,
2022 was a year of trials, triumphs and changing times. Today, we look back.
From a collapsed bridge to converging pandemics and changing social landscapes, our newsroom reported from the frontlines of many of the biggest news stories of 2022 in Allegheny County.
We investigated the disparities created and perpetuated by property tax assessment laws. We covered the Fern Hollow Bridge collapse. We broke news about facial recognition technology at Carnegie Mellon University. We covered anti-violence efforts, an election that will shape the commonwealth and the local fallout of the Roe v. Wade reversal.
All in all, we worked to respond to incredible events with thoughtful, useful journalism tailored to the Pittsburgh region. We are grateful for the community of over 1,100 members who helped make these stories possible.
