Last year on January 6, what should have been a straightforward celebration of American governance was instead a disruption by an angry mob. Egged on by President Trump, the mob violently sought to stop the certification of the election.

Chris believes it's time to take decisive action to safeguard our democracy and protect our institutions. That's why he helped introduce the Electoral Count Reform Act of 2022, a piece of legislation to safeguard the electoral vote, making it more difficult to launch conspiracy theory-based schemes to fraudulently win elections.

Now, after working for months with colleagues across the aisle, the Electoral Count Reform Act is officially slated to pass as part of the omnibus spending bill! While this is a critical first step to preventing another January 6 from happening again, Chris knows the work to protect our democracy isn't over.
