Your donation to PEN America affects real change. With the support and participation of people like you, here are just a few examples of what we accomplished in 2022. We were able to:
* Keep a precise count of every book banned in American schools and sound the alarm on how bans primarily target the LGBTQ+ community and people of color.
* Grant emergency funds to oppressed writers around the globe facing acute financial need.
* Train journalists to combat disinformation and online harassment, using our pioneering Field Manual.
* Research and document Russia’s savage attacks on Ukrainian culture as a weapon of war.
