Hi there,
Did you see our latest email?
Her Bold Move has endorsed Celia Israel for Mayor of Austin, and her runoff election is coming up FAST – in just 7 days. We need your help ASAP to ensure Celia is the next mayor of Austin.
Despite having years of legislative experience, Celia has been told to “wait her turn,” “stay in her lane,” and “wait for her opportunity” to clear the path for her male opponent. Her opponent has outspent her 4:1 – but Celia’s grassroots movement and high-energy campaign prove that voters are READY for change. Now, Celia is the FRONTRUNNER going into the December 13 runoff.
If Celia gets elected, she will be the first Latina ever elected mayor of a major American city and the first openly LGBTQ+ person to hold this office. But we don’t have a lot of time. Can you rush $15 or more to ensure Celia has the resources she needs to get her message out to voters?

Fwd Message:
Hi there,
We are writing to tell you about an exciting new endorsement – with a very tight deadline.
Her Bold Move is proud to endorse Celia Israel for Mayor of Austin, TX. She’s in a runoff election that is only 12 days away!
Since Austin was established in 1840, they have only elected one woman Mayor – 45 years ago. If Celia gets elected, she will be the first Latina ever elected Mayor of a major American city, and the first openly LGBTQ+ person to hold this seat.
Celia needs to raise funds as quickly as possible to get her message out to voters. Time is of the essence. Rush $15 or more to help us support Celia Israel’s campaign and ensure she wins on December 13. →

Celia has served in the Texas House of Representatives since 2014, and served as a leader in the Democratic Caucus. Before that, she worked in the Ann Richards administration. Yet, while deciding to run for Mayor, Celia was told to wait her turn, stay in her lane, or wait for her opportunity. Celia is a woman who has years of legislative experience and has shown up to serve her community; we have to ask ourselves, would a man with her experience ever be told to wait his turn?
Her opponent, Kirk Watson, is a former state senator and former Mayor of Austin. Despite Kirk outspending her campaign 4 to 1, Celia is the frontrunner going into the December runoff election, with 40% of the vote to his 35%. Celia is running an extremely competitive race going into this runoff election. She and her team are proving that voters are READY for change with a high-energy, people-powered, and grassroots campaign – but she needs our help.
With everything happening in Texas since SB8 (and the dangerous legislation banning abortions) went into effect, we thought you might like to see her response to our questions about how she plans to support the women of Austin at this time:
“While the state of Texas has banned abortion and continues to attack options for seeking reproductive health care, we as a city are not without power or resolve. I am the only candidate in this race who has provided a comprehensive action plan to support the reproductive needs of women and people who can get pregnant in Austin. We can come together with creative solutions to support Austinites in need of abortion, protect patient privacy, increase access to affordable contraception, and support access to sexual health and wellness services and medically-accurate sex education.”
With 12 days left until her runoff election, we must ensure Celia can get her message out to voters. Please pitch in $15 or more immediately to help her win this election. →
