And the angel said to them, ‘Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.’” — Luke 2:10 (ESV)
It is one of the first New Testament proclamations of the gospel. On a quiet Judean hillside good news came — but not in the way people expected.
The good news of Jesus’ birth did not come first to religious elite, scholars, or kings. It came to simple shepherds.
All throughout the gospels, Jesus makes it clear that His good news is for everyone. It is for the person next door to us. And it is for the person living in the toughest places.
This Christmas who can you tell about the good news that brings great joy?
Praises and Prayers
Pray for those affected by the flooding across West and Central Africa. Several million people have been impacted. Also pray for our local staff teams as they seek to serve those in need.
Praise God for the new well drilled in northern Malawi. The local staff team was able to share the gospel, and 50 people responded to the message of Jesus!
Pray for the local staff members as they follow up, build relationships, and continue sharing hope. Pray for the people served at a recent Unto vision clinic in the Middle East — that both their physical and spiritual needs will be met through the gift of eyeglasses and the message of hope that was shared.
