You may know Alex as The Green Shirt Guy - the sanctuary city advocate who was front and center in videos and pictures from a Tucson City Council meeting that went viral last year.

While Alex’s laugh is famous around the country, his credentials, organizing experience, and commitment to progressive values are what really stand out. He’s done field organizing for Amnesty International, Arizona Healthy Working Families (a minimum wage initiative), Tucson Families Free and Together (Tucson's sanctuary city initiative), and a number of progressive candidates’ campaigns.

Alex has a strong grasp of the issues and a deep understanding of Arizona’s First District. He knows just how diverse this district is and that its people are ready for a representative who actually represents their core values. In everything from environmental protections to economic opportunity to tribal sovereignty, Alex recognizes the unique approach we must take to reach out to each and every voter and make sure they know their voices are being heard.

Alex has been an integral part of the groundswell of progressive energy in Arizona, and with his help, we’re going to continue to motivate voters from all across this district and mobilize even more volunteers. As Alex says, we’re part of the movement that’s “beating back the apathy” that’s kept Arizona red for so long. We’re a swing state, and together, we’re going to reclaim the government for the PEOPLE!
