Subject California is facing a "tripledemic"-- here's how to stay safe

    Dear Friend, California is currently facing a “tripledemic”: a convergence of the flu virus, COVID, and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV). RSV is a common respiratory virus that usually causes mild, cold-like symptoms. Southern California has become a hotspot for RSV infections, which can be serious for infants and older adults. Click below to watch my PSA and learn how to protect yourself from illness. In order to prevent transmission this winter, be sure to: Get up-to-date on your flu shots and COVID vaccines and boosters; Wash your hands frequently; Cover your nose and mouth when coughing or sneezing; Stay home from work or school if you are sick; Be conscientious of close contact with others, including shaking hands, sharing cups or eating utensils, or other activities which may increase transmission. For non-life-threatening issues, patients should: Call Medi-Nurse advice line Call your pediatrician or doctor’s office to schedule visit Go to urgent care For life-threatening emergencies such as severe difficulty breathing, go to the Emergency Department. If you are uninsured or have Medi-Cal but no regular doctor, call the Medi-Nurse advice line at (877) 409-9052 for help connecting to local resources in your area.
