In order to prevent transmission this winter, be sure to:
- Get up-to-date on your flu shots and COVID vaccines and boosters;
- Wash your hands frequently;
- Cover your nose and mouth when coughing or sneezing;
- Stay home from work or school if you are sick;
- Be conscientious of close contact with others, including shaking hands, sharing cups or eating utensils, or other activities which may increase transmission.
For non-life-threatening issues, patients should:
- Call Medi-Nurse advice line
- Call your pediatrician or doctor’s office to schedule visit
- Go to urgent care
For life-threatening emergencies such as severe difficulty breathing, go to the Emergency Department.
