Take action this week
If you have a little time: Help us reach our fundraising goal!
When we announced that we had a $350,000 dollar-for-dollar gift match
for Giving Tuesday, we were optimistic that CCLers could help us take
advantage of this $700,000 opportunity to power our grassroots climate
movement. And CCLers stepped up to the plate in a big way: we are happy
to report that we exceeded our Giving Tuesday goal of $350,000, bringing
in a total of $451,503 ! We'd like to extend our sincere gratitude to
everyone who pitched in. Thank you so much!
The challenge is not quite over yet, as we need to reach our overall
goal of $1.5 million by Dec. 31. Donations received now through the end
of the year will allow us to recruit, train, and empower even more
citizen lobbyists in 2023, positioning us to achieve more impactful
climate victories. If you haven't had a chance to give yet, or if you
are in a position to give again, please make a year-end donation today

If you have more time: Meet members of your chapter at the conference
Have you been looking for a way to plug into CCL but haven't been able
to find your footing in your local chapter yet? The December conference
is a great way to meet and greet local CCLers and finally match a name
with a face on the national level. Since virtual conferences are where
many volunteers meet their local chapter members throughout the year,
CCL has set up a virtual reception, an Action Team Fair, and a student
mixer for you to meet other climate advocates. Find your local chapter

CCLers present Congresswoman with plaque
CCLers in El Paso presented Rep. Veronica Escobar (D-TX-16) with a
plaque for her work on the Inflation Reduction Act.
Volunteers Bob Niland, nine-year-old Ximena Valdez, and Ian Levy Valdez
presented the plaque.
"We talked about HR 2307, HR 4659, IRA, and the COP27 Conference," wrote
Ian, Chairman of the Green Fund Committee and Student Government
Association member at the University of Texas in El Paso. "We represent
three generations of El Pasoans who care about our climate and are lucky
to have a climate champion represent us in Congress. My little sister
presented the plaque to her and said, ‘Thank you for what you do to make
the world a better place for me.'"
You can see Congresswoman Escobar's response in the tweet below.
