Prior to Roe v. Wade , Michigan had a 1931 law on the books criminalizing abortion. And almost immediately after Roe was reversed, Michigan Republicans tried to reinstate this dangerous law!
But because of the work of Democratic leaders statewide, abortion remained legal in Michigan. And now thanks to Michigan voters, it’s protected forever!
States have complete control over abortion rights now, and Michigan voters took power into their own hands. In the aftermath of the Roe v. Wade reversal, do you think more states should add ballot initiatives to make abortion legal?
