Dear John,

Last summer, the Trump Administration tried and failed to gut protections for
endangered gray wolves. But Trump and the GOP’s efforts to push this iconic
species to extinction just won’t go away. Now, they’re closer than ever to
making this nightmare a reality.

Right before the holidays, Republican Senators introduced a bill that would
remove Endangered Species Act protections for gray wolves. This move would allow
hunters and ranchers to kill adult wolves and their pups, threatening the
survival of this keystone species.

However, there’s still time to protect wolves. If constituents like you speak up
against this disastrous bill, our legislators will have to listen. But you must
act fast!

Gray wolves are one of the most iconic and essential species in the United
States. They are a critical component of the ecosystems they inhabit --
impacting everything from deer and elk populations to grassland, birds, and
fish.

Gray wolf recovery efforts under the Endangered Species Act have been called
“one of our nation’s great conservation successes.” Now, all of that is at risk.

We know what happens when protections for gray wolves are revoked. Idaho,
Montana, and Wyoming have already loosened protections -- and in the last
decade, more than 3,200 wolves have been killed.

What's more, the only reason Trump wants to strip protections for gray wolves is
to appease Big Ag and Big Oil. This is unacceptable, and we need your help to
fight back!

This attack on gray wolves is just the latest development in Trump’s all-out
assault on our natural world. His administration has tried and failed to roll
back key provisions of the Endangered Species Act through cronies at the
Department of the Interior. Now the administration is hoping corporate cronies
in Congress will do Trump’s dirty work.

The good news: Our legislators must follow the will of constituents like you,
not Trump, Big Ag, and Big Oil. If we can show our legislators the groundswell
of public opposition to this bill, they will have to ensure gray wolves are
