NEW LEXILE & QUANTILE VIDEO FOR FAMILIES

*For Teachers and School Leaders*

* Assist families in understanding how to use their child’s Lexile and Quantile measures to boost learning at home. Lexile and Quantile measures are found on the WY-TOPP and WY-ALT assessment results report that parents recently received from last year’s assessments.

PAEMST 2022-23 AWARD CYCLE

*Nominations Open*

* The Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST) are the highest honors bestowed by the U.S. government specifically for K-12 science, technology, engineering, mathematics (STEM), and/or computer science teachers.
* Anyone may nominate exceptional STEM educators and computer science teachers *currently teaching grades 7-12*.

* The *Science Professional Learning Standards* [ [link removed] ] were developed by the Council of State Science Supervisors to support science educators in making informed decisions about the attributes, implementation, and evaluation of professional learning experiences.
* The *Wyoming State Museum* [ [link removed] ] has educational trunks, and virtual field trips are available. Check with them or your local museums for standards-aligned resources.
* The We ❤️ Veterans *Pin Design Challenge* [ [link removed] ] encourages students to create a 3D model of a wearable pin that thanks veterans. Entries due *December 14, 2022*.
* NCTE, with support from the Educating for American Democracy project, has released a new guide, *Reading, Writing, & Raising Voices: The Centrality of Literacy to Civic Education* [ [link removed] ]. This guide is meant to help educators and school leaders create continuous harmony between literacy instruction and civic life.
