Politico reports "White House's hopes for a lame-duck debt ceiling deal
are fading fast…Manchin has expressed reluctance to act on the debt
limit…"
It wasn’t enough for Manchin to hand House control to Republicans by
playing chief obstructionist last term. This term, he’s giving Republicans
a missile pointed right at the global economy.
Republican extremists like Marjorie Taylor Greene will use the threat of
an unprecedented, debt-ceiling caused economic crisis in 2023 to force an
ultimatum on Dems: "Slash social security and Medicare benefits or lose
millions of jobs in a catastrophic recession."
This is one example of how critical it is that Raphael Warnock win the
Georgia runoff for U.S. Senate and reduce Joe Manchin’s power. It’s one
reason PCCC members have already donated over $100,000 to get Warnock
re-elected.
