Here’s our message to leaders at COP27

Nothing about us without us.

Global Citizen,

I’m writing to you from Sharm El-Sheikh in Egypt, where leaders across the
world are meeting for the COP27 Climate Summit.

What happens here over the next few days matters. Not just for our planet’s
future, but for the millions of people experiencing climate change now – like
my own community in Kenya.

But there’s an issue. While Global South communities are on the front lines of
the climate crisis, our voices are often ignored and silenced during global
decision making moments.I’m determined to change this.

I’m here in Egypt with young climate activists from across Africa
<[link removed]>
who are using their voices to bring about a green future. We hail from
different parts of the continent and we campaign on different climate issues,
but at COP27, we’re united by one clear mission:to ensure that no decision is
made about us, without us.

Our communities are the least responsible for climate change but we’re in the
throes of its devastating floods, fires, and famines. Our voices deserve to be
heard.

We’re raising our voices to demand action — will you join us?

African activists are raising their voices

for renewable energy. We’re speaking out against harmful fossil fuels. We’re
campaigning to protect our forests and wildlife, and we’redemanding justice for
communities on the front lines of climate disasters.

I'm here in Egypt to ensure our voices are heard by those in power — help
amplify our message!
