CNN Politics: How Joe Biden and the Democratic Party defied midterm history [[link removed]]
Biden and the Democrats are in a position to have one of the four best midterms for the party controlling the White House in the last century.
Reuters: Biden: midterm elections showed strength of U.S. democracy [[link removed]]
U.S. President Joe Biden said on Monday that the U.S. midterm elections showed the strength and resiliency of U.S. democracy and was a rejection of so-called "election deniers" who have falsely argued the 2020 election was rigged.
New York Times: How Biden’s Post-Election Trip Turned Into a Victory Lap [[link removed]]
President Biden trod a well-worn presidential path by going abroad on official functions just after the midterms. But the news from home kept getting better for Democrats.
The Washington Post: Biden says midterm wins strengthened the U.S. overseas [[link removed]]
“…the election held in the United States … has sent a very strong message around the world that the United States is ready to play”. The interplay between domestic politics and global diplomacy has emerged as a major theme of Biden’s trip. In Egypt, he asserted the U.S. commitment to fighting climate change; in Cambodia, he sought to counter China’s influence in Asia; in Indonesia, he is signaling U.S. leadership of the world’s democracies.
Colorado Politics : Colorado now a solidly blue state as Democrats easily sweep key races [[link removed]]
"Democrats retained all statewide offices and maintained control of the state House and Senate in a sweeping performance that stood in stark contrast to close races elsewhere in the country. "
Colorado Politics: Colorado Latinos voted for Democrats in dominant fashion [[link removed]]
"Latino voters in Colorado overwhelmingly backed Democratic candidates this election, contributing to the failure of the so-called “red wave” in the state."
CPR: 'An extinction level event’: Colorado Republicans react to deep election losses [[link removed]]
"Honestly I think Colorado Republicans need to take this and learn the lesson that the party is dead. This was an extinction-level event,” said Republican state Rep. Colin Larson. “This was the asteroid that ended the reign of the dinosaur, and in this case, the dinosaur was the Republican party.”
