Monday Nature Mystery

Congratulations to Cathy for identifying the track of a Wild Turkey (Meleagris gallopavo). According to All About Birds ([link removed]) , you can find this species foraging early in the morning along forest edges that contain oak and hickory trees. Turkeys roost in trees but nest on the ground. Turkey eggs are a pale yellowish-tan with evenly marked reddish-brown or pink spots.
