John,
Wow. What a night. Thanks to you we are poised to pass Ranked Choice Voting in Minnesota statewide!
Our Best Chance to Pass RCV Statewide
Pro-RCV democracy champions Governor Tim Walz and Lt. Governor Peggy Flanagan conclusively won the gubernatorial race. We are so grateful for their support and embrace of Ranked Choice Voting and look forward to working with them to move it forward in our state. While we will continue to secure and build support, we have elected the largest number of pro-RCV candidates to the Minnesota House and Senate ever and are on the precipice of securing the majority necessary to pass RCV statewide next session!! Congratulations to all of our pro-RCV democracy champions who won seats at the state capitol. Thank you for your support of RCV and prioritizing democracy reform in your campaigns. We look forward to working with you next session to move RCV forward in the Minnesota House and Senate!!
FairVote MN is grateful to ALL of our pro-RCV candidates, regardless of outcome, for their support of this reform and even more importantly to voters for showing that democracy reform is a winning issue.

Thank you Team Democracy
And thank YOU! These victories were hard-fought and truly a team effort. We couldn’t have accomplished this without the contributions of all of you! FairVote Minnesota volunteers, supporters and staff dedicated thousands of hours to door knocking and phone banking on behalf of pro-RCV candidates this election season. We were proud to share with voters that these candidates are all strong advocates of democracy reform at the Minnesota legislature and part of a movement to improve our elections and strengthen our democracy. A big THANK YOU to all of you who joined in and supported these efforts!
This work also takes resources, and we are so grateful to all of you who donated, matched and helped us shore up the staff and resources we needed to secure these victories. We are blessed to have supporters truly dedicated to improving democracy in our state, and your vision and commitment has made this possible. We will now invest those resources into converting our democracy champion victories into RCV for Minnesota legislation!

Momentum for RCV Across the Country
The momentum for Ranked Choice Voting continues to build nationwide. We are thrilled to report resounding victories for RCV ballot measures in Evanston, Illinois; Fort Collins, Colorado; Portland, Maine; and Ojai, California. As of this morning, RCV ballot measures were ahead so far in Portland, Oregon; Multnomah County, Oregon; and in the state of Nevada! We congratulate our colleagues and local organizers whose work was pivotal in securing these victories.
The states of Alaska and Maine used RCV for critical federal races, and it looks like those races for the U.S. Senate and Congress in Alaska as well as the race for Maine’s 2nd Congressional District will be decided by RCV. So stay tuned for those results! Remember that Alaska won’t announce final election results for 15 days after receiving all absentee ballots as required by the Alaska Division of Elections. This timing allows for all the absentee ballots to arrive from remote areas and from out of state and is not not due to RCV.
