Momentum for RCV Across the Country |
The momentum for Ranked Choice Voting continues to build nationwide. We are thrilled to report resounding victories for RCV ballot measures in Evanston, Illinois; Fort Collins, Colorado; Portland, Maine; and Ojai, California. As of this morning, RCV ballot measures were ahead so far in Portland, Oregon; Multnomah County, Oregon; and in the state of Nevada! We congratulate our colleagues and local organizers whose work was pivotal in securing these victories.
The states of Alaska and Maine used RCV for critical federal races, and it looks like those races for the U.S. Senate and Congress in Alaska as well as the race for Maine’s 2nd Congressional District will be decided by RCV. So stay tuned for those results! Remember that Alaska won’t announce final election results for 15 days after receiving all absentee ballots as required by the Alaska Division of Elections. This timing allows for all the absentee ballots to arrive from remote areas and from out of state and is not not due to RCV.

We should all be proud of the hard fought victories yesterday and the continued momentum building for RCV statewide in Minnesota. The movement for democracy reform has come to our state, and with your support and dedication, we can pass RCV, strengthen our democracy and lead the way for the country. Session begins January 3, 2023 and we'll update you soon with actions and next steps to keep RCV moving forward in Minnesota! Forever grateful, Jeanne Massey |
