Nebraska voters made things crystal clear: A $15/hour minimum wage isn’t confined to coastal states — a livable wage is something voters from everywhere, of ALL parties, can get behind.

Voters in Nebraska just approved the Fairness Project-backed ballot measure that will raise the minimum wage to $15/hour by 2026 with a yearly adjustment after that for inflation.

This measure’s success has made history and means 1/5th of Nebraska’s workforce — workers in roles like school aides, restaurant workers, home caregivers, and skilled assembly line workers — will benefit from a higher wage, child poverty will decline, and so much more.

We know raising the minimum wage helps lift working people in America out of poverty. It’s why we partnered with a wide-ranging coalition of organizations and individuals across Nebraska to build awareness for this ballot measure campaign and turned out voters to support it.

Our work on passing minimum wage ballot measures has never been more important, team. And this victory brings our winning tally to NINE states where we’ve been able to help workers raise wages.
