Nebraska voters made things crystal clear: A $15/hour minimum wage isn’t confined to coastal states — a livable wage is something voters from everywhere, of ALL parties, can get behind.
This measure’s success has made history and means 1/5th of Nebraska’s workforce — workers in roles like school aides, restaurant workers, home caregivers, and skilled assembly line workers — will benefit from a higher wage, child poverty will decline, and so much more.
We know raising the minimum wage helps lift working people in America out of poverty. It’s why we partnered with a wide-ranging coalition of organizations and individuals across Nebraska to build awareness for this ballot measure campaign and turned out voters to support it.
Our work on passing minimum wage ballot measures has never been more important, team. And this victory brings our winning tally to NINE states where we’ve been able to help workers raise wages.
As the results from Nebraska show, working people in every state need a livable wage. It’s an issue all voters across the political spectrum and socioeconomic status can get behind.
And, friend — we’re committed to making it happen.
But we can’t do it without you, team. If you can, will you donate today to help us run and win more ballot measure campaigns to raise wages for working people in America?
