Virginia’s Inspector General has launched an investigation into a taxpayer-funded $268,000 state contract granted to Gov. Youngkin’s political ad firm.

The ad that came out of this lucrative contract, ostensibly promoting Virginia tourism, casts Youngkin in a starring role. The governor can be heard narrating the sixty-second spot and seen at race tracks, rest stops, and even driving a NASCAR vehicle. Youngkin is taking full advantage of this taxpayer-funded boon to his image, and now the state Inspector General is stepping in to investigate.

Poolhouse, a Richmond Republican media firm, produced the ad for the Virginia Tourism Corporation, a taxpayer-funded entity. They also produced over $1 million worth of ads for Youngkin’s 2021 gubernatorial bid, and notably, already have a contract with him for 2024.

John, we know that Youngkin has been working hard lately to cultivate his stardom, but this time he did it at the expense of hardworking Virginians.
