John, Virginia’s Inspector General has launched an investigation into a taxpayer-funded $268,000 state contract granted to Gov. Youngkin’s political ad firm. The ad that came out of this lucrative contract, ostensibly promoting Virginia tourism, casts Youngkin in a starring role. The governor can be heard narrating the sixty-second spot and seen at race tracks, rest stops, and even driving a NASCAR vehicle. Youngkin is taking full advantage of this taxpayer-funded boon to his image, and now the state Inspector General is stepping in to investigate. Poolhouse, a Richmond Republican media firm, produced the ad for the Virginia Tourism Corporation, a taxpayer-funded entity.
