John,

I wanted to make sure you saw this:

Yesterday, Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg visited our district to see the infrastructure challenges we’re facing firsthand.

Secretary Buttigieg and I rode the Coaster on the Del Mar bluffs and discussed the need to reroute the railway out of danger from coastal erosion. We also held a press conference about this urgent issue, which you can watch part of here. [[link removed]]

As part of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, our office has secured over $62 million in new federal funds for local infrastructure projects in our district -- including for bridge repairs and investments in our water systems.

This will deliver desperately-needed investments for our local infrastructure, and I’m excited to see that coming to fruition. For more on Secretary Buttigieg’s visit, read the San Diego Union-Tribune’s coverage here. [[link removed]]

Thanks for everything,

Mike
