I have found meaning and purpose in my life by serving others and caring for my community – as a nurse, a volunteer, an advocate, and a mother. I've held patients' and family members' hands during their most difficult moments. I've cared for hospice patients in their homes and nursing homes. I've advocated for some of the most vulnerable children and adults in our state. And I did everything within my power to help my beloved son recover from his opioid addiction.

This work has led to some of the most meaningful connections of my life and opened up my eyes to experiences wholly unlike mine. It’s been one of the greatest honors and privileges of my life to meet and listen to so many Missourians these last few months.

In the Senate, I promise that I will be a leader for every family in this beautiful state. Whether you live in a big city like St. Louis or a rural town like Eldon. Whether you vote red or blue, or not at all. Whatever your background, beliefs, and hopes for the future, there is a place for you in this movement.
