Dear Planet Lovers,

Thank you for your generosity and dedication to our mission in 2019. We are lucky to have you in the 5 Gyres family and this last decade of success is all thanks to you.

As a surfer, I’ve known for a long time that plastic pollution in the ocean is a huge issue. I’ve even been hit in the face by a plastic bottle while out in the lineup! My love of the ocean is one of the reasons why 5 Gyres’ mission resonates so deeply with me. Another reason is that my first child is due next month! While I am beyond excited to be a father, I can’t help but be concerned about the planet he will be inheriting.
