Dear John,
This year we are the closest we have ever been to permanent protection of the Boundary Waters. But we can only continue to do that with help from supporters like you.

The northern long-eared bats are one of the three federally protected animals that call the Boundary Waters home and are a crucial part of the Boundary Waters ecosystem. They help to control the insect population, pollinate plants, and spread native seeds. A Twin Metals mine would destroy their natural habitat and put them further at risk of extinction.

The hibernacula and roost trees within the Boundary Waters forest that the northern long-eared bats call home would be cleared to build the infrastructure for the mines. The noise, dust and light pollution from 24-hour-a-day, 365-day-a-year mining operations would affect behavior - especially the ability to hunt - both inside and outside of the Boundary Waters putting them and other wildlife further at risk.
I don’t need to ask if you’re with me. If you’re reading this, I already know you are. But I am asking you to make your biggest commitment yet to Save the Boundary Waters by making your first gift today.
