Three weeks from now there is going to be an election. From school board seats to governor mansions and control of Congress, this is an election that will shape the course of our country and our communities. A reminder to all that today, October 17th, is the last day to register to vote [[link removed]] here in Virginia. Make sure that you and all your friends are registered to vote, and that your registration is up to date!
This upcoming week is packed with events. First off, an administrative one: AYD's Resolutions Committee Meeting is this Wednesday, October 19th at 8pm.
Now on to the campaigns. On Saturday, October 22nd, AYD is deploying a detachment to canvass for Pennsylvania Dems John Fetterman, Josh Shapiro, and Shamaine Daniels in Harrisburg, PA. Sign up here [[link removed]] by Thursday, October 20th and we hope to see you there!
Can't make it Saturday? Join us on Thursday, October 20th at 6pm for phone banking with VAYD from the comfort of your own home.
Last but not least, the fun events: Arlington Democrats Diwali Celebration will be this Sunday, October 23rd at 2pm. We have secured a beautiful spot at Bluemont Park to celebrate this festival of lights. There will be Indian food, live music, dancing, and more!
And of course, it is spooky season, and AYD is thrilled to host our Halloween Happy Hour at Freddie's on Tuesday, October 25th at 6pm!
