Three weeks from now there is going to be an election. From school board seats to governor mansions and control of Congress, this is an election that will shape the course of our country and our communities. A reminder to all that today, October 17th, is the last day to register to vote here in Virginia. Make sure that you and all your friends are registered to vote, and that your registration is up to date!
This upcoming week is packed with events. First off, an administrative one: AYD's Resolutions Committee Meeting is this Wednesday, October 19th at 8pm.
Now on to the campaigns. On Saturday, October 22nd, AYD is deploying a detachment to canvass for Pennsylvania Dems John Fetterman, Josh Shapiro, and Shamaine Daniels in Harrisburg, PA. Sign up here by Thursday, October 20th and we hope to see you there!
Can't make it Saturday? Join us on Thursday, October 20th at 6pm for phone banking with VAYD from the comfort of your own home.
Last but not least, the fun events: Arlington Democrats Diwali Celebration will be this Sunday, October 23rd at 2pm. We have secured a beautiful spot at Bluemont Park to celebrate this festival of lights. There will be Indian food, live music, dancing, and more!

AYD + VAYD Phone Bank Join AYD for a phone bank with VAYD on Thursday, October 20th from 6-7:30pm! With election day getting closer, we need all hands on deck to help Democratic candidates get elected up and down the ballot.
We'll have a brief tutorial at the beginning for people who are phone banking for the first time and then we'll get started around 6:20pm. Sign up below!

AYD Canvass: Harrisburg, Pennsylvania Join AYD as we canvass for Pennsylvania Democrats on Saturday, October 22nd! We'll be campaigning for John Fetterman for Senate, Josh Shapiro for Governor, and Shamaine Daniels for House of Representatives. We'll be meeting up in Arlington to carpool to Harrisburg, PA at 12:30pm, meet-up location will be sent after you sign up. Please sign up by Thursday, October 20th. |

Please be prepared to walk around for a while (think: athletic clothing, tennis shoes, sunglasses, baseball cap/visor), and keep an eye on the forecast. We recommend while canvassing that you wear sunscreen, bring water and snacks, and come with a fully charged phone as we will be using a mobile app to canvass.
