Dear Friends,
My name is Hugo Soto-Martínez and I’m running for Los Angeles City Council, District 13. As an experienced labor organizer who was born and raised in South Central LA, I have the experience and passion to make our wonderful city greener, cleaner, and safer. My campaign is laser-focused on LA’s housing and homelessness ([link removed]) crisis, which is why I’m proud to have the endorsement of Project ID Action Fund.
As you may know, it’s been quite a week ([link removed]) for the LA City Council. With the clear systemic racism and corruption problems plaguing City Council, I quickly called for the resignation of the individuals involved, but I also recognized that won’t be enough.
The whole reason I got into this race was because of entrenched politicians only looking out for themselves – and it’s time that we elect councilmembers who are for the people.
There’s less than a month until Election Day so these final weeks are crucial. Ballots are already being mailed to California voters. The deadline to register or update ([link removed]) your registration is October 24th.
With your support, we can win this seat and make a positive impact for all of us here in LA, including workers, immigrants, commuters, renters, and the unhoused. We still have many canvassing and phonebanking ([link removed]) opportunities coming up and would love for you to join us.
In solidarity,
Hugo
