There are only two Democratic senators up for re-election in states Donald Trump won in 2016 -- Michigan Senator Gary Peters is one of them.

Hes drawn on his business background time and time again to make Washington more transparent and accountable -- which led to efforts in Congress to eliminate wasteful and unnecessary spending.

But he knows Michigan is never a given for Democrats -- in fact, he likes "their Midwestern independent streak." Trump carried the state in 2016, but in 2020 all bets are off.

His opponent -- supported by the GOP establishment -- is out-raising him right now. Gary raised $2.5 million in the third quarter, compared to $3.09 million by his Republican challenger -- we cant let this Senate seat slip away from us.
