This November, we have a chance to make history in Vermont. By electing Becca Balint to Congress, we’ll not only be sending the first woman to represent our state in Washington, but also the first openly gay woman as well.

Nearly half of U.S. states lack basic protections for LGBTQ+ people, meaning they can be fired from their jobs, evicted from their homes, or denied credit just because of who they love or their identity.

And with a disturbing rise in anti-LGBTQ legislation popping up across the country, we need representation in government now more than ever to ensure that hateful “Don’t Say Gay” legislation and bills criminalizing trans health care never advance through the halls of Congress.
