John,
This November, we have a chance to make history in Vermont. By electing Becca Balint to Congress, we’ll not only be sending the first woman to represent our state in Washington, but also the first openly gay woman as well.
Nearly half of U.S. states lack basic protections for LGBTQ+ people, meaning they can be fired from their jobs, evicted from their homes, or denied credit just because of who they love or their identity.
And with a disturbing rise in anti-LGBTQ legislation popping up across the country, we need representation in government now more than ever to ensure that hateful “Don’t Say Gay” legislation and other bills criminalizing trans health care never advance through the halls of Congress. That’s why we MUST elect Becca Balint on November 8th. Can you chip in a donation to send Becca to Washington?
Not only is Becca an LGBTQ+ champion, she has also proven herself as an effective legislator who will be an outspoken advocate and a passionate representative for the community. While in the Vermont Senate, Becca helped protect LGBTQ+ youth by banning “conversion therapy” and advocating for the gender-inclusive bathroom bill on the Senate floor.
That is precisely the kind of leadership we need in Washington in these dark times. We have the chance to make history in November AND ensure the LGBTQ+ community gains a true champion to stand up for them in Congress. Can you make a contribution to elect Becca Balint to Congress next month?
