Summary of classes
Introduction to the History and Beliefs of the United Methodist Church, facilitator: Larry Johnson, ( mailto:[email protected] [email protected])

The history and beliefs of the United Methodist church lays the foundation for our ministry, outreach and testimonies. This introduction will trace the beginnings of the Methodist movement, John Wesley’s role in growing Methodist societies in England and the fundamental doctrine that Wesley established for Methodists. The class stresses our Methodist heritage and its unique emphasis on grace, personal holiness and social action ministry in our communities.

The Potential of Wesleyan Class Meetings, facilitator: Mitch Ross ( mailto:[email protected] [email protected]) , Text for the course: The Class Meeting, Reclaiming a Forgotten and Essential Small Group Experience by Keven M. Watson.
The Class Meeting is a means of grace that has the ability to transform people and facilitate spiritual growth. The instruction is focused on the history of the class meeting, the basics of what should and should not take place, and defines the qualities of a class leader. Students will learn how and why the class meeting became an essential element of Wesleyan spirituality that expanded the Methodist movement for over a century in England and America.

Ministry at Central Community UMC in Shell Knob, MO
Do you have space available for a Day Care? This was the question posed to the Governing Board of Central Community UMC in Shell Knob a little over a year ago. They said, “Let’s do it!”

After converting a former classroom, choir room, and nursery into a space for children, Noahs Ark Daycare opened to serve six children from the community while they continued working to finalize steps to meet requirements for State Licensure. Noahs Ark Daycare is now a fully licensed daycare serving twenty-five children from the community and growing.

Central Community UMC discovered there was a great need for quality daycare in our community and was able to fill that need by utilizing space in their facility that was not being used.

Please continue to check both sites for more information.
