Introduction to the History and Beliefs of the United Methodist Church, facilitator: Larry Johnson, ([email protected])
The history and beliefs of the United Methodist church lays the foundation for our ministry, outreach and testimonies. This introduction will trace the beginnings of the Methodist movement, John Wesley’s role in growing Methodist societies in England and the fundamental doctrine that Wesley established for Methodists. The class stresses our Methodist heritage and its unique emphasis on grace, personal holiness and social action ministry in our communities.
The Potential of Wesleyan Class Meetings, facilitator: Mitch Ross ([email protected]) , Text for the course: The Class Meeting, Reclaiming a Forgotten and Essential Small Group Experience by Keven M. Watson.
The Class Meeting is a means of grace that has the ability to transform people and facilitate spiritual growth. The instruction is focused on the history of the class meeting, the basics of what should and should not take place, and defines the qualities of a class leader.
