The 2020 election will be one of -- if not THE -- most consequential of our lifetime.

The second round of Presidential debates will take place in just a few days. As 20 Democrats take the stage to make the case for why they are the best choice to defeat Trump in 2020, millions of Americans will be tuning in and deciding who to cast their vote for.

There are a lot of strong candidates in the race -- and we've briefly heard from several of them on their plans to combat the climate crisis, such as Pete Buttigieg's plan to create a National Climate Corps or Joe Biden's proposal for a Clean Energy Revolution -- but only one can be the final nominee.

Who the next President is will have a major role in determining whether or not we are able to solve our climate crisis in time to avoid the most dire effects of climate change.
