In addition to advancing credit union issues on Capitol Hill in 2019, NAFCU produced forward-thinking resources to connect the industry and decision makers on trends and developments impacting operations, including outlining industry priorities and changing environments related to data privacy, marijuana banking, fintech, and more.


850 Wawa locations affected by malware [ [link removed] ]
Last week, convenience store chain Wawa announced that more than 850 of its stores had been impacted by malware that exposed customers' debit and credit card information since March. It has not released how many consumers may have been affected.


Higher-priced mortgages, Regs Z, M exemption thresholds increase in next week [ [link removed] ]
CFPB and the Federal Reserve have issued joint final rules to increase exemption thresholds for appraisals for higher-priced mortgage loans and Regulations Z and M in 2020.






NCUA further details alternative data use [ [link removed] ]
The NCUA last week issued a Letter to Credit Unions further detailing a joint statement – released earlier this month – from federal financial regulators on the use of alternative data in credit underwriting, including consumer protection implications and potential benefits and risks.
