Actually, Spooky Stories Can Be Good For Kids
[[link removed]]
Are you still haunted by the contents of Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark,
decades later? Did a particular Goosebumps book really stick with you? I bet
most of us have some sort of spooky story that looms large in our memories of
childhood. But that doesn’t mean getting a little scared is bad for kids,
either. Annie M. Atherton investigated whether it might be good for them, even:
“Now that I’m a parent, I wonder whether creating opportunities for kids to feel
fear in fun, mitigated contexts can be okay — important, even.”

[[link removed]]
Here’s a treat for my fellow millennials, and especially for my fellow
millennials named Kelly: a Scary Mommy chat with Tiffani Thiessen, A.K.A Saved
By The Bell’s Kelly Kapowski herself. As it turns out, though, her kids (a
12-year-old daughter and a 7-year-old son) aren’t too interested in her work:
“They know what I do for a living, they understand that people will come up ...
but my daughter really only heard about Alexa & Katie,” the 2018 Netflix sitcom.
But her daughter did finally watch Saved By The Bell — read to find out what she
thought.
