Actually, Spooky Stories Can Be Good For Kids
 
Are you still haunted by the contents of Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark, decades later? Did a particular Goosebumps book really stick with you? I bet most of us have some sort of spooky story that looms large in our memories of childhood. But that doesn’t mean getting a little scared is bad for kids, either. Annie M. Atherton investigated whether it might be good for them, even: “Now that I’m a parent, I wonder whether creating opportunities for kids to feel fear in fun, mitigated contexts can be okay — important, even.”
