I wish I could start your Saturday with some good news, folks, but I have to break the bad news instead: we missed our end-of-quarter FEC goal last night.

Ultimately, this isn’t the situation I wanted to be in this late in the game. We don’t want to be scrambling to fund our campaign operations in the final weeks before Election Day.

I do, however, want to thank you for chipping in to my campaign when we needed your support – and give my team a much-deserved shoutout for all the work they did to get us this far.

We can’t afford to miss a single goal between now and November. Will you contribute $10 today to make sure we get back on track for October?

I’ll speak frankly. Between super PACs, special interest groups, and GOP megadonors, the anti-choice right has a significant fundraising advantage in these midterms. We simply won’t hold our pro-choice Democratic majority without defending blue battleground districts like IL-06.

If we run out of resources, we’ll have to make some hard decisions:

Pulling our TV and digital ads and ceding the airwaves to the GOP’s attacks
Cutting back our canvassing efforts, so fewer folks get registered and prepared to vote
Decreasing our digital reach, which will make it harder to correct the far right’s lies

Since we fell short last quarter, I need your help more than ever to defend my battleground district. Can I count on you to pitch in $10 to make sure we’re ready for this final stretch?
