Today, as we mark International Safe Abortion Day ([link removed]) , SAAF and our grantee partners send a clear message: abortion is healthcare.
SAAF grantee partners have shared images of support for the right to abortion around the world. We are a global community and we are brave and uncompromising in our call for safe, legal access to high-quality abortion care and support.
You can view all of the photos on the SAAF Facebook Page ([link removed]) .
We are welcoming 37 new SAAF grantee partners
We are delighted to announce 37 new organisations who will start receiving SAAF funding at the beginning of October. This cohort of organisations who have not received SAAF funding before will join 49 other organisations already being supported by SAAF.
You can find more information about all our current grantee partners on the SAAF website ([link removed]) . The new cohort includes organisations from 30 different countries across five regions, and they will work on a range of initiatives related to abortion access, rights and information-sharing.

SAAF grantee partner spotlight: SOSFEC
SOS Femmes Enfant et Catastrophe ([link removed]) (SOSFEC) has been a SAAF grantee partner since 2014. They work in the South Kivu region of the Democratic Republic of Congo, where many women were turning to unsafe abortion due to lack of information and access to safe abortion options. With SAAF funding, SOSFEC has now set up three clinics and provided reproductive health services to almost 70,000 people.
Clarisse from SOSFEC has written a blogpost about their work:
"Iβm delighted to be able to say that our clients are satisfied with the care they receive...Working with clients at SOSFEC has shown me, for certain, that Misoprostol saves lives."
