In just a few hours, South Florida will start feeling the effects of Hurricane Ian. Although we aren’t in the direct path, this storm is large and slow-moving, which means we still need to be prepared.
The heaviest rainfall is expected tonight through tomorrow, and high winds are also likely, as well as storm surge, flooding, and strong rip currents.

South Florida is no stranger to severe weather, but in recent years, we’ve seen worsening flood risks even during a normal afternoon thunderstorm.
