** CLC Launches New Online Democracy Advocacy Tools ([link removed])

States are the laboratories of democracy, experimenting with new ideas that might deliver a more representative government. To that end, Campaign Legal Center is proud to launch “DemocracyU: A Toolkit for Action in Your Community” to help policymakers and concerned citizens learn more about solutions to the biggest threats to our democracy.

At DemocracyToolkit.org ([link removed]) you will find information on the challenges to access, transparency and inclusion in our democratic process, and nonpartisan solutions to those challenges.


** Following CLC’s Complaints, New York State Attorney General Subpoenas NRA records ([link removed])

In 2018, CLC filed four separate complaints with the FEC alleging that the NRA violated campaign finance law. Now the New York attorney general has issued a subpoena for documents related to the NRA’s scheme.


** What the Impeachment Inquiry Has Highlighted About Lev Parnas, Igor Fruman, and Rudy Giuliani's Corrupt Activities in Ukraine ([link removed])

The first stage of the impeachment inquiry into President Trump’s abuses of office revealed how career diplomats were troubled by the ability of Igor Fruman, Lev Parnas, and Rudy Giuliani to help engineer a corrupt shadow foreign policy in Ukraine.

Milton Thomas of Nashville, TN was finally able to regain his right to vote by working with organizers from CLC's Restore Your Vote project.


** $2 Million Trump Foundation Settlement Also Implicates Campaign Finance Law, CLC Alleges in Supplemental FEC Complaint ([link removed])

Trump and the Trump Foundation acknowledged violating New York charitable and tax law, and also admitted to key factual allegations in CLC’s complaint.


** Restoring Voting Rights Act Is Critical to Combating Discriminatory Voting Practices ([link removed])

The protections granted by the Voting Rights Act of 1965 have been severely weakened since the Supreme Court’s decision in Shelby County v. Holder in 2013.
