CLC Launches New Online Democracy Advocacy Tools 

States are the laboratories of democracy, experimenting with new ideas that might deliver a more representative government. To that end, Campaign Legal Center is proud to launch “DemocracyU: A Toolkit for Action in Your Community” to help policymakers and concerned citizens learn more about solutions to the biggest threats to our democracy. 
 
At DemocracyToolkit.org you will find information on the challenges to access, transparency and inclusion in our democratic process, and nonpartisan solutions to those challenges.  

Following CLC’s Complaints, New York State Attorney General Subpoenas NRA records 


In 2018, CLC filed four separate complaints with the FEC alleging that the NRA violated campaign finance law. Now the New York attorney general has issued a subpoena for documents related to the NRA’s scheme.

Restoring Voting Rights Act Is Critical to Combating Discriminatory Voting Practices 


The protections granted by the Voting Rights Act of 1965 have been severely weakened since the Supreme Court’s decision in Shelby County v. Holder in 2013.
