This national abortion ban is a severe one. It would impose heavy restrictions and supersede state laws on access to abortion.

It’s clear far-right Republicans aren’t content with knocking down Roe v. Wade and enacting dozens of restrictive laws in many states. They want to control our bodies in all 50 states.

This stunt in Congress is the latest, clearest signal of extreme MAGA Republicans’ intent to criminalize reproductive freedom, and the fact that they’re pushing for all 50 states and hoping to arrest doctors for providing basic care proves that given the chance, Republicans will work to pass the most draconian bills possible.

We knew this day would come. That’s why we've partnered with more than two dozen abortion rights organizations across the country to defend abortion access, fight extreme laws, and push back on Republican efforts to ban reproductive care completely.
