Here at Vote Save America, we’re fighting for a better future, so we try not to dwell on the past. But sometimes, the past continues to cause problems in our present and in achieving the progress we want to see. The 2020 election was almost two years ago but we’re still dealing with its aftermath in 2022: Voter suppression laws were passed designed to discourage the same voters who made their voices heard in record numbers to elect Joe Biden from being able to do it again – these new restrictions could make it harder for [1 in 5 Americans]([link removed]) to vote. More than [1 in 2 Americans]([link removed])will have a candidate on their ballot this fall who supports Trump’s false claims that the election was stolen from him in 2020.
 
That’s why today, we’re throwing it back to 2020 and launching our second annual Every Last Vote week of action, to help make sure everyone is able to vote and every vote can be counted.
 
We’ve got a lot of work ahead of us if we want to protect everyone’s right to vote. And we do.
 
So here’s the plan for this week:

- [Make sure you’re registered and your registration is up to date.]([link removed]) Tomorrow is National Voter Registration Day. Voter registration deadlines are coming up soon in many states. Even if you’re sure you’re registered, it doesn’t hurt to check, especially if you’ve moved since the last election, you’ve changed your name, or you haven’t voted in a while.
- Once you’ve checked your registration, make sure that your friends and family check theirs as well (or register for the first time, wouldn’t that be exciting!) This is called relational organizing, which is something you can say to people who tell you you spend too much time on your phone.
- If you don’t have any unregistered voters in your life, we’ve got some for you! It’s not too late to [join Next Gen Action tomorrow]([link removed]) to register young voters in 11 battleground states.

[Become a poll worker!]([link removed]) Election officials are making decisions right now about how many polling places they can open and that depends on how many people volunteer to be poll workers. If you live in Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Carroll, Cecil, Frederick, Harford, Kent, Prince George, Queen Anne, Somerset, Talbot, or Washington County or Baltimore city, those areas are facing the most dire shortages.  

- [Combat voter suppression by contributing to organizations in key swing states that are organizing marginalized communities and ensuring everyone has access to the ballot.]([link removed])

In 2020, we all panicked because we were voting during a pandemic and we had no idea whether our mail ballots would arrive in time to get counted. We kicked off our first Every Last Vote campaign and you stepped up in a big way, helping to register 180,000 new voters, help 500,000 people make a plan to vote, raising nearly 1 million dollars, and recruiting 28,000 poll workers.

Fortunately, things aren’t quite as dramatic this time around, but there are still real hurdles—willful disinformation, rampant voter suppression, drunk former mayors trying to overturn elections. November 8 is only 50 days from today. Now is the time to make these final weeks count.

So much is at stake here—Republicans just introduced a national abortion ban in the U.S. Senate, which is essentially a middle finger to the hundreds of thousands of women registering to vote in droves since the Supreme Court decision to overturn the constitutional right to abortion. Not today, Lindsay Graham, not today.
