Service change this Saturday, September 17
Metro has launched its September 2022 service change web page [ [link removed] ] to help riders plan their future trips. The page also is available in Español (Spanish) [ [link removed] ] and 中文 (Chinese) [ [link removed] ].
The new schedule adjustments will increase reliability, more evenly space out the time between bus trips, and will preserve service where transit demand and needs are greatest. Metro is scheduling more than 11,000 weekday bus trips across King County.
*Nine routes returning to the West Seattle high bridge on Monday, September 19*
SDOT has completed their analysis of strength testing that was conducted on the West Seattle Bridge earlier this week. The bridge has passed its final safety test and this data confirms the bridge is strong, safe, and ready to reopen on Sunday, September 18. In order to reduce any confusion, Metro bus routes [ [link removed] ] will continue to run service on the lower West Seattle bridge through end of service on Sunday.
**Beginning at the start of service on Monday, September 19, s*everal routes will return to the West Seattle high bridge. **This will affect Routes 21/21X, 50, 55, 56, 57, 120, 125 and RapidRide C Line.*
While this change will lessen travel time and improve reliability for riders between West Seattle and Downtown Seattle, we still recommend riders utilize Metro's real-time trip planning tools, alerts, and trip planning personnel to learn more about how this may impact their travel plans.

South Bus Base Expansion Update
Sattelitte image of south base
Metro is transitioning to a zero-emissions fleet by 2035. To meet this goal, we must update our bases to support the electric buses. We’re starting this work at our South Campus in Tukwila to bring the environmental and health benefits associated with battery-electric bus operations to the communities that need it most.
