Nine routes returning to the West Seattle high bridge on Monday, September 19
SDOT has completed their analysis of strength testing that was conducted on the West Seattle Bridge earlier this week. The bridge has passed its final safety test and this data confirms the bridge is strong, safe, and ready to reopen on Sunday, September 18. In order to reduce any confusion, Metro bus routes will continue to run service on the lower West Seattle bridge through end of service on Sunday.
Beginning at the start of service on Monday, September 19, several routes will return to the West Seattle high bridge. This will affect Routes 21/21X, 50, 55, 56, 57, 120, 125 and RapidRide C Line.
While this change will lessen travel time and improve reliability for riders between West Seattle and Downtown Seattle, we still recommend riders utilize Metro's real-time trip planning tools, alerts, and trip planning personnel to learn more about how this may impact their travel plans.

South Bus Base Expansion Update
Metro is transitioning to a zero-emissions fleet by 2035. To meet this goal, we must update our bases to support the electric buses. We’re starting this work at our South Campus in Tukwila to bring the environmental and health benefits associated with battery-electric bus operations to the communities that need it most.
