September is the most important month for fundraising that we’ve faced so far. In just a few weeks, we’ll be in the most critical period of this race — when most voters will be tuning in and preparing to cast their ballots.

That’s why we need to make up ground after we fell just short of our mid-month fundraising goal yesterday.

The sky isn’t falling, and we’re not panicking. But here’s the truth: Our last quarterly FEC fundraising deadline is in just two weeks, and now we’re short of our goal. That means that we might have to scale back our digital ads, organizing operation, and TV budget — and National Republicans will see that our momentum is slowing down.

Mitch McConnell has already spent $250,000 on TV ads to boost Michael’s opponent, and the National GOP has amassed a $331 million warchest to flip seats like Michael’s — so if we fall short, they could decide that Colorado is worth even more of their investment.
