** đź“Š Research Alert: Multiracial LGBTQ Youth Report Higher Rates of Mental Health Challenges
------------------------------------------------------------

Multiracial youth are the fastest-growing demographic in the United States, but minimal research has examined their specific experiences. Even less research explores the intersection of multiracial and LGBTQ identities, particularly among young people. The unique convergence of stressors experienced by people holding both a multiracial identity and an LGBTQ identity might make them more susceptible to negative experiences that impact their mental health. One finding revealed by the data: multiracial LGBTQ youth report higher rates of mental health challenges compared to monoracial LGBTQ youth.

** This September, Support LGBTQ Youth with Hot Topic
------------------------------------------------------------
[link removed]

We are in the midst of National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month — a time when our focus on providing life-saving services to LGBTQ young people kicks into high gear. Year after year, studies show that respecting the language that LGBTQ young people use to self-identify can reduce depression and suicide risk, and change lives for the better.

For the second year in a row, our friends at the Hot Topic Foundation are honoring this important September campaign with refreshed designs of their three pronoun pins. Available in Hot Topic stores and online, the three enamel pin designs were created by I'm in my feelings, LLC especially for this campaign. When everyone chooses to share their pronouns, we can create a more supportive and accepting space for all. Now through 10/31, all net proceeds from these pins (a minimum of $8 per pin sold) will be donated to support our life-saving work.

** KIEHL’S “SINCE 1851, SINCE___” DIGITAL SELF-CARE CAMPAIGN
------------------------------------------------------------
[link removed]

This September, our friends at Kiehl’s Since 1851 are raising awareness for National Self-Care Month and National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month through a 360-degree, self-care campaign -- “Since 1851, Since ____.” For the third year in a row, we are partnering to drive awareness about the importance of self-care and our shared values of inclusivity, equality, and diversity. In 2022, Kiehl’s is committed to a $165,000 donation that will help us provide free, confidential, and life-saving crisis counseling services to over 1,500 LGBTQ young people. In honor of Self-Care and Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, Kiehl’s is encouraging their community to celebrate what makes them unique “Since Day One” while also continuing to raise awareness about the challenges LGBTQ young people face on a daily basis.

Kiehl’s is partnering with value-aligned talent who take a stance on diversity, disability awareness, LGBTQ advocacy, and more, and asking them to share what makes them who they are and challenge their followers to do the same. Digital assets will also be featured in Kiehl's stores for UGC play and via email newsletters, in addition to Kiehl’s and retailers’ microsites.

We invite you to play your part in the “Since 1851, Since ___” digital campaign by sharing your own story and raising awareness for the self-care of everyone. You can also support The Trevor Project alongside Kiehl's by making a donation ([link removed]) today.
